Welcome to the world of the most sophisticated flower !.

Chances are that you have been told that they are difficult to grow, impossible to rebloom and will eventually die .... nothing could be more wrong.

Orchids are true wonders of nature, there's about 30 000, and counting, different sorts of orchid plants ( species only , hybrids not included ) so that's a whole lot of plants to choose from. It seems quite sensible to state that we won't be able to provide the perfect growing conditions, in our houses, for a great number of plants, but with highly selected hybrids everything is now possible.

If you have bright light you might give a try to the vanda, queen of the orchids, or the cattleyas. With a little shadding phalaenopsis, dendrobiums and odontoglossums should thrive. Less light ? no problems, miltioniopsis and paphios will love it. If you happen to have any question regarding our plants, please send us an email with your request, we'll try to reply asap : info@velvetine.be

Over the last couple of months we also had the following species : phalaenopsis pulchra, pallens, violacea, violacea var. coerulea, bellina, chibae, amboinensis, appendiculata, celebensis, cochlearis, cornu-cervi, equestris, fasciata, gigantea; javanica, braceana, fuscata, fimbriata, floresensis, lueddemanniana, mannii, mariae, pantherina, parishii, stuartiana, tetraspis, venosa, viridis, ... yes, we love phal species. But we also had some strange bulbophyllums, cymbidiums, dendrobiums ( such as true nobile sp., trantuanii, secundum or ), coelogynes, paphiopedilum sp., angraecum sp., spathoglottis sp., ... we even did venture in the cold frame with pleiones, cypripediums and chinese cymbidiums ! It is almost impossible to keep a list up to date, so we won't even try for the moment. We'll soon build a web shop with our plants. Until then you might always query thru email.
